To strengthen our Supply & Technology Solutions – Global Supply Chain department, based in our hub in Braine, Belgium, we are looking to fill the position of: Head of Global Product Supply Practice .
As a UCB Head of Global Product Supply Practice, you like to work in an environment where you can:
Own the product supply for the entire UCB product portfolio part of the development and commercial phases, supporting End-to-End Life Cycle Management strategies.
This includes developing supply plan scenarios to meet customer service levels, ensuring business continuity, end-to-end supply chain optimization (including Inventory Optimization) as well as New Product Launch Supply Plans/scenario or mature brand deletion/divestiture in partnership with the PVU’s, Life Cycle Management (i.e. CMC, Regulatory, QA, Drug Safety teams) and UCB market organizations.
Lead the development of business rules, key processes, metrics and tools to deliver on product supply strategies.
Work in a matrix environment and building strong relationships with multiple stakeholders is critical.
Provide innovative ideas to optimize supply chain and generate alternatives that create value including seeking benchmark and other external insights.
Challenge self and others to continuously learn and improve.
Be the primary GSL LT contact for PVU’s.
Lead the CSL & GSL practice/team.
As a UCB Head of Global Product Supply Practice, you will contribute through the following activities:
Active member of the Global Supply Chain Leadership Team
Shape the newly created Clinical Supply Leaders and Global Supply Leaders Community of practice (Home) seeking differentiated management and resource strategies, new levels of cost transparency and enhanced simplicity and efficiency. Must be able to handle ambiguity and lead organizational and transformational changesFoster a positive environment and drive collaboration between team members around team’s mission/purpose, common targets & objectives, key priorities and roadmap in line with UCB ‘s corporate and GSC’s strategic goals.
Share management accountability of CSL and GSL teams and align with PVU’s and CTS leaders
Primary GSC LT point of contact for PVU’s, PV Ops EB heads as well as other senior key stakeholders
Ensure CSLs & GSLs maintain various data base updated in the adequate system(s)
Support GSL’s in leading Launch & Change Control proposals supporting E2E product lifecycle strategies
Support CSL’s and GSL’s in risk definition & mitigation for their respective product portfolio in relation with UCB/PVU/GSC‘s global risk framework and strategy.
Strategic Product Supply (3 – 10 years)
Accountable for long range physical and financial supply chains, overall inventory targets and ensuring long term capacity /capital plans meet the Global Supply Requirements – Lead the development of the product portfolio supply plans (development and commercial manufacturing) in collaboration with TSO (internal/external manufacturing)
Support selection of external partners e.g. CMO, Commercial partners, etc…to ensure GSC’s key priorities are accounted for.
Provide full visibility on Product Portfolio Supply Plans (mid-long-term plans) in line with commercial demand & go-to market strategy
Own and maintain the Global Product Launch Planning dashboard, ensure data accuracy and their timely publishing ; promote and lead technical enhancements
Support the PVUs in development, maintenance and enhancement of launch in-market-readiness capability to drive dynamic decision-making across the enterprise and ensure product supply chain’s key priorities are accounted for.
Work closely with TSO functions to ensure manufacturing readiness and sufficient capacity is available to meet customer service and New product launches targets are met
Short Term Product Supply (0-3 years)
Ensure supply continuity by flagging potential risks and developing contingency plans (ie influence sourcing strategy, flows, stock strategy...) through close collaboration with master planners, QA, Finance, TLs and TSO key stakeholders such as the production sites/CMO management.
Monitor the performance of product supplies (ie sales figures, forecasts, inventory levels) and analyze trends, recurrent root causes. Drive coordination of activities and knowledge gathering to ensure issues are addressed and escalated timely across the product portfolio stakeholders - Deploy Analytics and external benchmarks
Accountable for the SIOP process efficiency - Work closely with GSC Standardization and Optimization team to improve the SIOP process and other GSC processes (GOTC, etc)
Other GSC’s Core Accountabilities
Provide innovative ideas to optimize supply chain and generate new ideas or alternatives that create value including seeking new information and external insights
Physical and Financial Product Flows – develop, influence & maintain the product flows in collaboration with finance, taking into consideration manufacturing and distribution network optimization strategies and UCB Corporate sustainability ambition. Align and provide input data on Systems & transactional architectures to (i) System & Processes & (ii) Master Data teams to enable raising URS.
Ensure continuous improvement and optimization through (ie inventory turns, SKU creation and rationalization, new service to customers, order to cash approaches)
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills :
Master’s degree with in-depth (min 10 years) expertise in Supply Chain management and at least 5 years’ experience in the Pharma industry.
An APICS Certification is highly appreciated
Pharma business understanding in a global world, including development, launch, geography expansion, loss of exclusivity and the regulations applicable.
Strong business acumen, analytical skills, familiar with financial evaluation techniques
Robust long-term planning and New product launches process knowledge
Decision-making driver within multi-disciplinary team and matrix organization.
Excellent communication skills are required to ensure information sharing within project team, with internal stakeholders and external partner (e.g. workshop, meeting facilitator) to achieve results on agreed targets defined within the team
Good financial background is required in the frame of business case preparations and evaluation.
Fluency in English and French
