Background
The research group Business Informatics is looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial colleague to conduct doctoral research. This research group focuses on how IT and knowledge, acquired from data, support and strengthen companies in making decisions and generating business value. The research combines the fields of business administration and computer science and focuses on designing solutions for business challenges.
The doctoral research will be situated in the domain of 'Audit Analytics'. This domain encompasses the use of information technology to support a financial audit. Examples of current research in this direction are the development of an active learning application, the investigation of process deviations and the use of text mining for fraud detection.

Job content
You conduct research, write and publish research articles, attend and contribute to international and national conferences with the aim of writing a PhD dissertation.
Suggestions of possible themes are:
- process mining
- event data analysis
- decision making
The research on these themes is in the context of Audit Analytics.
The theme will be defined in consultation with the PhD supervisor. You are part of a dynamic research team with national and international contacts. Furthermore, you will participate in the Doctoral School of Behavioral Sciences & Humanities. In addition, you will be deployed to a limited extent for teaching tasks in the department of Quantitative Methods.

Profile

  • You have a master's degree in Business Engineering or a master's degree in Business and Information Systems Engineering or a master's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
    Final-year students are (likewise) encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of financial auditing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of programming is an asset.
  • You are fluent in written and oral communication in Dutch and/or English.
  • You are able to present and report on project results clearly.
  • You work proactively and accurately, ensuring a high-quality end result.
  • You have the necessary problem solving skills to succesfully fulfil the research role.
  • You work analytically and have a structural understanding.
  • You can work well independently but you also have attention for communication towards colleagues and supervisors.
  • You can work well in a team.

    We offer you a PhD scholarship for 2 x 2 year with interim evaluation.

    Selection procedure
    You can only apply online up to and including 15 June 2021 .
    The selection procedure consists of a preselection based on application file and an interview.
    In addition to this selection procedure, tests may be taken.
